My topic is ” Cryptocurrency is better than cash.” I am on the affirmative side. Write full-sentence debate script. It will include three source citations, and the analytics/results of your audience analysis survey and demonstrate that you’ve adapted your speeches to the audience based on those results. Include the author/credentials, where it was published, and the date of publication in your citations. Please follow the rubric and the example attached to do what I am asking. I attached the survey too. Body (4 points per item): Time _______(2:30 minimum; 3:00 maximum) ___ Restated the resolution and the values ‘at stake.’ ___ Claim 1 was developed with effective, compelling narratives and/or cultural references. ___ Narratives and cultural references in claim 1 were clearly linked to the evaluative term. ___ Claim 1 was adapted to this specific audience (using stories, relevant statistics, shared experiences, etc). ___ Claim 1 was free of logical errors. ___ Claim 2 was developed with effective, compelling narratives and/or cultural references. ___ Narratives and cultural references in claim 2 were clearly linked to the evaluative term. ___ Claim 2 was adapted to this specific audience (using stories, relevant statistics, shared experiences, etc). ___ Claim 2 was free of logical errors. ___ Claim 3 was developed with effective, compelling narratives and/or cultural references. ___ Narratives and cultural references in claim 3 were clearly linked to the evaluative term. ___ Claim 3 was adapted to this specific audience (using stories, relevant statistics, shared experiences, etc). ___ Claim 3 was free of logical errors. ___ Body was well organized; transitions and signposts were used. ___ Used pathos and persuasive tone to help the audience ‘feel’ a certain way about your debate. ___ Ended by restating the resolution and what is ‘at stake’ if your side does not prevail. ___ Managed time effectively; met time limits and developed claims equally (none were too short or too long). External Evidence (3 points per item): Three sources and one survey reference are required; they may be cited in the first or second constructive, or the rebuttal. ___ Source 1 was correctly cited and applied effectively. ___ Source 2 was correctly cited and applied effectively. ___ Source 3 was correctly cited and applied effectively. ___ Class survey was effectively applied. Rebuttal (2 points per item): Time _______ (45 sec minimum and 1:30 maximum) ___ Used rebuttal language (‘My partner claimed . . .’). ___ Organized ideas effectively and used transitions/signposts. ___ Used some type of evidence to support your ideas (can include, but not limited to, narratives, statistics, source citations, expert testimony, personal examples, etc.) ___ Used sound logic; avoided unrealistic, unsupported generalizations. ___ Met time requirements. Conclusion (2 points per item): Time _______(30s minimum; 1:00 maximum) ___ Restated the resolution. ___ Reviewed your key claims. ___ Restated what values are ‘at stake’ if your side does not prevail. ___ Ended with a memorable closing statement; ‘stick the landing.’ ___ Managed time effectively; met time requirements. Delivery (3 points per item): ___ Showed enthusiasm and passion while speaking; had facial expressions and animation. ___ Used effective and appropriate volume (not too loud or too soft). ___ Used appropriate tone and incorporated vocal variety (rate, pitch). ___ Paused effectively; used few ‘uhms’ or other vocal fillers. ___ Eye contact has improved since the previous debate. ___ Avoided distracting behaviors (rocking, swaying, or ‘dancing’ around, etc.) SCRIPT PACKET (each item below is worth 5 points) ____ Debate packet was assembled properly (in order: script, survey tally, references) ____ Verbal citations in the script are underlined. ____ Class survey analysis was well organized and easy to interpret. ____ The script is formatted neatly and free of spelling and grammatical errors. ____ The reference list properly adheres to APA formatting guidelines. 8/5/2021 Cryptocurrency is be er than cash Cryptocurrency is better than cash 9 responses Publish analytics Would you recommend to your family and friends the usage of cryptocurrency? As an environmental sustainability enthusiast, I believe it would be oblivious to turn a blind eye to the negative consequences associated with wind energy. More particularly, wind turbines have been identified as a leading threat to many natural species like bats and eagles. The Office of Wind Energy Technologies Office (2021) has highlighted several adverse environmental impacts of wind turbines as a source of energy. Credibility I am an eco-lover, who has substantially interacted with plants and animals. Besides, I have read extensive researches on environmental sustainability. Preview: Today, I will negate the resolution: ‘Wind Turbines have Positive Impacts on the Environment.’ I will focus on their negative impact on wildlife, agriculture, and human beings. To support my argument, I will use journal articles and blogs from credited environmentalists. First, I will cover wind turbines as a leading killer for flying wildlife like bats and eagles. Secondly, I will look at how wind turbines reduce agricultural productivity. My last point is on noise pollution, which comes from wind turbines. Body: In as much as wind turbines are beneficial, they have many negative impacts on nature. The world needs to consider other renewable sources of energy. I. First, I wish to assert my claim that wind turbines are a leading threat to wildlife. Joel Merriman (2021), an environmental conservationist and a blogger, reported that more than 336,000 birds are killed by spinning wind turbines on annual basis. When there are strong winds, the turbines will spin at incredibly high speeds. The blades carry a lot of force with them. As a result, not even the biggest bird can survive being hit by a spinning wind turbine. For this reason, Michael Shellenberger (2019), in Ted Talks, says that we cannot rely on wind turbines to save the environment. I agree with this statement, as birds are part of the environment and should be protected. Transition: Having looked at the negative effects of wind turbines on wildlife, I wish to shift attention to their effect on agriculture and plants. II. We can all agree that human beings and many other species rely on agriculture for survival. Surprisingly, the wind turbines, which many people root for, are detrimental to agriculture. Matt Ferrell (2020)- of the Brilliant Org shares some unpopular facts about wind turbines, in one of his video lectures. Notably, wind farms have been associated with increasing temperatures at night. This is because there are not enough plants to absorb carbon during the day and produce oxygen at night. Subsequently, increased temperatures lower productivity for various types of crops. Transition: Moving on swiftly, I would like to cover how wind turbines can be burdensome to human beings. III. My third point focuses on the noise pollution that is caused by wind turbines, which is problematic for communities living nearby. Indeed, the turbines are known to generate excess noise due to their aerodynamics and mechanical motion. According to Mariano (2019), the noise could affect the sleeping patterns of local community members. He also says that noise has negative psychological effects on affected people. Restatement: As such, I believe it is unreasonable to state that wind turbines have positive impacts on the environment. Rebuttal: My partner claimed that wind turbines have positive impacts on the environment. She said that by reducing carbon emissions, wind turbines can help to reduce global warming. I would like to counter this opinion by stating that wind farms exist on bare farms without plants. According to science, plants take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen (Johnson 2016). This, however, is not possible on wind farms, which have no plants. Transition: I would also like to refute her second point of wind energy is free costing energy. In my opinion, placing these turbines is still not affordable and harmful for the environment as well. Conclusion: Signpost and Summary: To conclude, I assert my negative stand on “Wind Turbines is Beneficial to Nature.” One, the turbines have been identified as a leading killer for flying wildlife like eagles and bats. Secondly, the turbines are detrimental to agriculture, as they cause an increase in night temperatures. Lastly, the turbines are a source of noise pollution, which is harmful to local communities. With that, I believe that the world should explore alternative means of renewable energy, that will lead to a happier environment and way of life. References Johnson M. P. (2016). Photosynthesis.
