Assignment A (50%):
You are required to critically evaluate an organisations Sustainability practices against theory and best practice by:
Researching the company using secondary sources to make justified conclusions and recommendations based on the issues evaluated.
The report should be approximately 2,000 words in length and must involve a review of academic theory on the issues covered.

Assignment Tasks
You are required to critically evaluate the organisations Sustainability practices against theory and best practice. This will entail:
Identifying course concepts that can be used to evaluate the management of your companys sustainability practices.
Illustrating these course concepts using examples.
Critically evaluate the chosen course concepts.
You are to research the company using secondary sources and to make justified conclusions and recommendations based on the issues evaluated.
Submission Requirements
Please ensure that your work is uploaded at least 2 hours before the deadline to avoid any problems linked to slow uploads etc.
Please ensure that you receive a digital receipt that your file has successfully uploaded.
Please submit one file only i.e. dont have the main body of the report as one file and the summary as another file etc. Combine everything into one file.
The following file naming format should be used for submission:
Name of company evaluated and student number
Referencing (using the Harvard System)
In the report:
Handy (1989) and,
In the Reference List :
Handy C., (1989) The Age of Unreason, Century, Hutchinson
Need to reference in the report and not just in the Reference List
If theory is not referenced, are you trying to say that you have invented it?
Both company/industry information and academic theory need to be referenced.
Business Reports
Business Reports are typically for Senior Management
Have little time available (c10 minutes to read)
Will need to understand contents quickly (nothing should need reading twice)
The first page (executive summary) should grab interest (the rest may then get read)
Structure must be easy to follow and typically follow an established structure
Presentation must be professional
Language must be good, natural everyday English no slang or colloquial expressions
Avoid jargon
Diagrams should be used if possible (simplifies concepts)
Detail in appendices but only if necessary
