Harvard Interpersonal Communication Questions & Letter Response

Harvard Interpersonal Communication Questions & Letter Response

This is a multi part task for my communication class. The work is not very long and difficult but it is important to make sure that you are not missing anything. I am already running late with this task so it is very important for me to have a tutor who can deliver quality work in a short timeframe. No extensions can be provided for this task. Nevertheless, I am a native english speaker so it is important to ensure that the work has an academic vocabulary without grammar errors, otherwise i won’t be able to accept the work. Read below to see exactly what needs to be solved. Please try to deliver each part in a different word document so it could be easier to review it: Part 1 ( Essay- Response Letter – approximately 800 words of content) Read the attached letter (Shanon Letter) and write a 2 page long single spaced, essay which includes the following information : In your introduction, list at least 5 points to be discussed in the response letter.  Describe the main interpersonal communication problem in detail.  Summarize two other specific interpersonal problems from that letter. Relate the interpersonal communication problem to at least two of the interpersonal communication principles Response letter should reflect an understanding of at least five interpersonal communication principles and concepts covered in the course content for Weeks 5-7. Remember to bold the concepts. Suggest five practical ways to deal with conflict and poor listening in interpersonal relationships.  Use communication terminologies to convey ideas Part 2 (Article summary – 400-500 words) Read the following article: https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download;jse… Summarize the research found in the article entitled ‘Do Family Meals Really Make a Difference? (Cook and Dunifon, 2012) provided in the link below. In your summary be sure to note which finding was most compelling to you and why. What can you do now or in the future to ensure more family mealtime? Be descriptive in your response.` Part 3 (Question and  Answers – answer each of them in in depth , a total of 4 questions, each at least 100 words).  Question 1: First, read “Family Relationships” and then answer the following questions: Does Pearson’s definition of family fit your own? Why? Why not?   Question 2:  Selecting an Appropriate Conflict Management Style and Triggers complete a-f. Number them. Be descriptive in your responses and include the letter with each answer. a. Describe a conflict that you are experiencing. b. Examine/describe the relationship between you and the “other person. “c. Examine/describe the situation. d. Describe the other person involved in the conflict. e. Identify your goals. f. Now select the conflict style (avoiding, accommodating, competing, compromising, or collaborating) most appropriate based on your answer to a-e. Share why you feel the style is most appropriate. Be descriptive in your response. Question 3:  Of the conflict triggers discussed (demands, cumulative annoyance, rejection, one-upping, and mind reading) which one do you find most often triggers a negative reaction from you? What strategies can you use to better manage the trigger and more effectively manage conflict?   Question 4: Conflict is not always negative in a relationship. How do we distinguish between constructive and destructive conflict? Where is the line we draw in order to keep it constructive? And how can we (or can we ever) ensure that the other person sees whether the conflict is constructive or destructive? Dear Shannon I am currently in a pickle. I cannot seem to hold my tongue. To give you a little background I am the kind of person to always speak my mind. I always have and I always will! It is who I am, and who would I be if not myself? Anyways, I always find myself in situations where this seems to be a problem. Can you believe that?! For instance, there was this one particular time where I was taking the bus to go downtown. You know, the real big grey buses you see all over. I find myself a seat and mind my business when all of a sudden a stranger sits next to me. Now I usually don’t mind having folks sit next to me on public transportation, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was he started singing his poor ugly heart out! To some wretched song he had going on through his headphones. Now me being me, I tell him his singing is lousy and he needs to stop. Of course, he doesn’t take too kindly to this and begins to tell me he can do whatever he likes. Again, me being me I had to tell him he’s wrong and that when it comes to his singing how could he like it because it’s honestly just horrendous. Then suddenly I am the bad guy and everybody on the bus tells me to leave him alone. I just don’t understand, my opinion definitely matters and it needs to be heard. That’s exactly why I always speak my mind! I know communication is irreversible, so that’s exactly why I have been having a hard time recently. There was another instance. I remember this fairly vividly, it just happened the other day. I was with some ‘friends’. Let’s call them Smiles Too Much and What’s Deo. Smiles Too much I just met recently, I thought he was a decent human being but that all changed rather quickly. Yesterday was the second time we hung out and I don’t know how I didn’t notice this before but this guy just smiles all the time! It doesn’t matter what I am talking about, it could be something grim or happy he would just keep smiling. I brought this up to What’s Deo but he just brushed it off as ‘he’s just a really positive person’. Obviously, I couldn’t take it anymore and I had to say something. I told him something along the lines of his smile is creepy and I don’t care how positive you are. You can go be positive in a padded room because that’s where you belong! So you see, I just can’t help myself. I suppose communication is inherently relational. Maybe that’s why I can always speak my mind. I am typically better than most people so why wouldn’t they want to hear my opinion. If anything I’m doing them a favor. Let’s get started on What’s Deo. Honestly the problem is in the name. The guy just always smells. Forget about deodorant, he outta bathe himself in boiling soap water! I don’t mean to ramble but I really need help.
