Write an essay ABOUT LIGHT POLLUTION following the guidelines

ESSAY #3: Problem & Solution~ Nature & the Environment Overview: The world is filled with problems that need solving as you may know. In particular, many environmental concerns either will or already are impacting your way of life and the lives of others. Questions you might want to ask can be far ranging, such as global warming, or localized and immediate, is Suffolk’s paper recycling efficient? Start by posing questions. What are the issues or controversies surrounding your topic? Which gaps still exist in research and writing? Then find a solution and persuade your reader to your point of view. Your topic must deal in some way with Nature and the Environment—the theme of our readings. Composing Advice: You will compose a Problem/Solution Essay which will be written from a third person perspective and incorporate secondary sources for support of ideas. You may select one of our readings if you wish along with four or five quality sources that include library research databases (i.e. Academic Search Complete). Develop your own thesis from authors’ arguments and examples, effectively analyzing their views to develop your own thoughts and concerns. In what ways are we impacting the natural world around us? What problems still deserve attention and need fixing? How are we currently hurting our environment or enabling our surroundings to thrive? And how might we take action now and in the future? Essay Guidelines: 1. Have a clear introduction to start followed by a clear thesis that directs readers to the main problem. Be sure to include brief overviews of each work for context before analyzing them. 2. Generate several main points/problems to reflect upon in the body. Examine the author’s argument(s). When you are developing points, consider how authors’ reasons defend or contradict each other. Consider their logic, use of evidence: illustrations and statistics. 3. Show that you can both sustain a persuasive view and control secondary sources, examining both arguments and counterarguments. Then offer a solution(s) to the problems you pose. 4. This paper should demonstrate effective use of MLA format for in-text documentation (quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing). Remember as you synthesize ideas to always connect your findings to your main argument and thesis! 5. The paper should be 6-7 pages in length. It must be typed, double-spaced, in 12 pt Times Roman font, and follow MLA format: heading, title, pagination, one-inch margins, and include a separate Works Cited page.
