Evaluating committee will vote on whether student has been successful in the Prospectus Presentation. A “Pass” means the committee believes student can move to Chair supervision.

Faculty Comments and Recommendations:

1. Recommend removing third research question.

2. Ensure minimum of at least 15 sample size total.

3. Ensure significance leads to “expectation of” so you are not promising an outcome.

In addition to the recommendations above, all students should conduct a final review of spelling, grammar, and APA format throughout the document. Upon completion of all edits, students should conduct a final update of the Table of Contents using the MS Word capabilities.

Additional Comments for All Students:

1. Make sure there is an alignment between your problem statement (real problem), research question, theory and methodology.

2. Do not stop working on your DSP. You are pretty much done with DOC690 and the next term begins July 12, 2021. Please use this time to make DSP progress.

3. Discuss researcher bias and possible conflict of interest, especially if you own the research site company, work for the company, or know personally the stakeholders. Be transparent and discuss all the attempts you make to avoid or reduce biases.

4. Become an expert on your research methodology and techniques. For example, if you will conduct interviews, read best practices and practice, practice.

5. Document everything. Remember that your document must be like a recipe that provides the exact details of how the researcher will conduct the research.

6. If you are concerned about reaching out participants, come up with a back up plan.

7. We encourage you to collaborate with your peers. Peer support is important. Join our DBA LinkedIn page https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13667193/

8. As you develop your instruments, you will need to validate your instruments and ensure reliability. Most students use an expert with a doctoral degree and an expert of practice in your field of study.

9. Remember that your DSP will be published at the end of the research. Please make sure it is well written and avoid typos and grammatical errors.

Overall Recommendation:

[ X ] Pass. Ready to begin formal DSP work under DSP Chair supervision.

[ ] No Pass. Student is not ready to begin formal DSP work. Student needs to retake DOC690.
