Read p. 117 “Composing an Argument Based on a Definition”.
Step 1 – choose a word from the list of abstract words.
Step 2 – Define the term you chose and support your position with reasoning, creating a complete written argument. Possible strategies are described on p. 118.
Remember that this is an argument paper taking a position, so there MUST be an acknowledgement of opposing views, either in a Rogerian paragraph, or within paragraphs, using the language of concession and refutation. Here is a helpful page.(Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
