Many artists exploit irony, satire, parody, the absurd and the grotesque, among other efforts in
an attempt to harness them for artistic purposes. Sometimes, it feels like people looking at art
in galleries or museums is a very serious affair.
But, not all art is that way.
Some is humorous or whimsical, etc. When used to good effect, humor can provide a levelling
sense of relief, the sense that art doesn’t have to be a highbrow challenge. Instead, it can be
fun. Since I believe art should provoke a range of emotions, heres an opportunity to share an
art piece that you find humorous.
