In my research, I will use the article by Jakubczyk et al. (2020) to provide the causes and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The article will provide more insights into the available options for treating IBD. The article advocate for the use of a probiotic in treating the condition. The article’s authors say that probiotics are essential since they can enhance interaction between immune systems and the gut microbiota.

Additionally, I will use the article to discuss various probiotic mechanisms such as the regulation of immune responses, enhancement of the intestinal barrier functions and modulations of the gut microbiota compositions. I will use the article to compare randomized controlled trials and various clinical studies to provide evidenced based practice. The article will enable me to discuss interventions and methodologies of different outcomes of each study. I will discuss gaps and limitations in the existing research for further consideration in future studies.
