The topic that I will be choosing for my Term Paper will be “Social media and social change. Social media has been used to raise awareness, raise voices, and push for social change. It gives people access to a level of communication that previous generations did not have. People can now quickly call out bad practices, injustices, and have a voice in a variety of situations thanks to social media. They can ask questions, receive answers, reconnect with others, and more with just a few clicks of their mouse and keyboards. Therefore, with the help of all the sociological theories I will be answering in this paper questions like how do social media represent social identities or inequalities?

Also, in many ways, social media has had a significant impact on our lives. It has become a source of amusement for others; we can now communicate with loved ones on the other side of the world; we can now receive news and information instantaneously, as well as contribute our perspectives. However, social networking has had a negative impact on others as well. Their sleeping patterns have been disrupted because of their excessive usage of social media. Based on this impact my paper will have a clear understanding on how the social media may have many benefits, but still how we need to be aware of all the negative things this one brings.
